Caregiver Support
and Respite Services

Support for families and friends caring for elderly or disabled adults.

Caregiver Support Services provide individualized coaching and counseling to help caregivers develop caregiving skills, connect with resources, and maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Caregiver Respite Services provide safety, companionship, supervision, and other non-medical services that allow the primary caregiver time away for other activities.

Respite services are usually provided in the care receiver's home using a care plan specific to their needs.

Caregiver respite services for individuals are essential in providing temporary relief and support to primary caregivers who bear the responsibility of caring for their loved ones with physical limitations, cognitive impairments such as dementia, or chronic Illnesses.

Caregiver respite services offer a vital break for caregivers, allowing them to tend to their own needs, recharge, and prevent burnout.  By offering this temporary relief, caregiver respite services play a crucial role in sustaining the overall health and quality of life for both caregivers and individuals with needs such as dementia.

Caregiver Support and Respite Services are available in Rice, Olmsted, and surrounding Counties.

Funding for these services is provided in part by Southeast Minnesota Area Agency on Aging and the State of Minnesota.

Family Service Rochester does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, religion, sexual orientation, public assistance status, marital status, age, disability, sex, including sex stereotypes and gender identity or any other protected class.
